MACMASTERS BEACH
In this case, a retired couple wanted to make a permanent move to their beach side holiday home. As empty nesters, they wanted to continue to live independently, at the same time, equipping the home to accommodate their children and grandchildren during weekends and holiday periods.
The couple engaged Modifex to propose a practical design to accommodate their own needs as well as those of the wider family group, obtain council approvals for the renovation work, carry out the works without disrupting the current structure and help settle the couple into their new home. As the environment where the home was located is highly corrosive, Modifex recognized and implemented the required special construction considerations. Modifex was required to think innovatively and as a result altered some traditional building practices to make way for an improved solution.
Modifex used more durable stainless and galvanized steel components and the client was thrilled with the end result. These images shows a superior quality home that will last for many years to come with a minimum of ongoing maintenance typical of a beach side dwelling and this met a requirement set by the client. Above all, the couple achieved what they set out to do. They sold their large family home in Sydney and retired to a new home overlooking the ocean. The client was also able to keep a presence in Sydney by investing in a smaller townhouse using profits from the sale of their original family home.
